Next hearing on new oil wells scheduled for March 1.

Three companies are proposing to drill over 750 new oil wells in the northern part of Santa Barbara County! Now the time to write your County Supervisor to say that you oppose more new drilling. More information here. Most people are unaware of what the oil companies are planning, so one of the most important things you can do is to tell your friends and neighbors. One of the three companies, ERG proposes to drill 233 steam injection wells.
A Planning Commission hearing on the ERG project is tentatively scheduled for March 13, 2019, in Santa Maria — SAVE THE DATE. A final EIR on the ERG proposal will be published soon.
