350 Santa Barbara Endorses Steyer, Hart, Capps, Valencia
If you haven’t voted, make sure you do. It’s too late to mail, but you can drop your ballot in a dropbox (locations here) or vote in person on June 2nd. Urge your friends and family to vote!

We endorse Tom Steyer for Governor because he is a true climate champion. We first ran into him many years ago in Oxnard, where he turned up at a rally and spoke eloquently to a state commission about the need to shut down the Ormond Beach power plant that was polluting low income neighborhoods nearby. He clearly cares about people’s health and understands the need to protect our future by switching to renewable energy.
Steyer is endorsed by 350 Founder, Bill McKibben, and many other climate activists and organizations, including the Sierra Club, the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, and California Environmental Voters. He has also garnered the support of labor unions, including the California Nurses Association, the California Teachers Association, and the California Federation of Labor Unions AFL-CIO.
***
We endorse Gregg Hart as State Assemblymember for the 37th District. Hart will continue to fight oil development on our beautiful coastline. He will stand firm for immigrant rights and against ICE.
***
For County Supervisors we endorse Laura Capps, District 2, and Ricardo Valencia, District 5.
Capps has successfully advocated for more solar installations in our county. She has fought hard against the restart of Sable Energy’s corroded pipeline.
Valencia is endorsed by the Central Coast Labor Council and by labor unions. The Sierra Club and CAUSE also endorse him. He supports “a responsible transition to clean energy that creates good-paying jobs while protecting our environment and local economy.”
